Privacy Policy for Sharp Studio: Focus
By Leap & Know
Effective Date: 2 October 2026
Last Updated: 7 October 2026
Introduction
Leap & Know (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sharp Studio: Focus (“the App”) collects,
uses, and safeguards your information.
Our Promise: We respect your privacy. We do not sell your data, we do not
ask you to create an account, and everything you achieve in the App stays on
your device.
Sharp Studio: Focus is supported by advertising. That is the main thing
this policy has to explain, and we would rather say it in the first paragraph
than bury it. Section Advertising below sets out exactly what that means and
what control you have over it.
The App has no sign-up, no login, and no profile. There is no field anywhere
in it that asks for your name, your email address, or anything else about you.
Your progress
- Your times, scores, personal bests, daily streak and focus minutes are
stored only on your device, using a local database (Hive).
- We cannot see them. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Specifically, the App stores locally: your best result per activity and
difficulty, your current and longest streak, your total and per-day focus
minutes, your session counts, your sound and haptics settings, whether the
daily reminder is switched on and the time of day you chose for it, and
whether you currently have an ad-free period running.
Sharing a result card
- When you tap Share, the App renders an image on your device and hands it to
your operating system’s standard share sheet.
- What happens next is entirely your choice — which app you send it to,
whether you save it, whether you send it at all.
- The App does not read your photo library, your contacts, or your
messages. It only hands one image out; it never reads anything back.
Analytics Data (via Firebase / Google Analytics)
To understand how the App is used and to improve it, we collect anonymous
usage data.
What we DO collect:
- Which activity you opened, and when a session started, was completed, or was
abandoned
- How long a session lasted, and your score or time for it
- When you set a personal best, and the previous best it beat
- When your daily streak extends or breaks, and its length
- When you open a share card and when you complete a share
- Which ads were shown, where in the App they appeared, and whether a rewarded
ad was watched to the end
- Whether you were offered the daily reminder, whether you allowed
notifications, the hour you chose for the reminder, and when a reminder was
opened
- Purchase and review-prompt events (see Purchases below)
- Technical information: device model, operating system version, app version
- Crash reports and the errors that caused them
What we DO NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or any account identifier
- Your photos, contacts, files or messages
- Your location
- Payment or card details — these are handled entirely by Apple or Google
- Anything you type; the App has no text input
Anonymous identifiers:
- Firebase assigns a random, app-scoped identifier to your installation.
- It is not your name, your email, or your device’s permanent serial number,
and we cannot use it to work out who you are.
- Deleting and reinstalling the App produces a new one.
Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
When the App crashes or hits an unexpected error, we receive a report so we can
fix it. A report contains:
- the error and the stack trace — which line of our code failed
- device model, operating system version and app version
- the same anonymous, app-scoped installation identifier used for analytics
It does not contain your name, your progress, or anything you have typed —
the App has no text input.
Advertising
The App shows ads from Google AdMob. There are three kinds:
- a banner, at the bottom of the home screen and at the bottom of the
result screen after an activity finishes — never during an activity itself;
- an occasional full-screen ad when you leave an activity, at most once every
few sessions;
- optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch, in exchange for 24
ad-free hours or for trying the next difficulty tier for a day.
We deliberately show no ads during a session. A session is the thing the App
is for.
What this means for your data
To serve ads, Google receives:
- an advertising identifier — the Advertising ID on Android, or the
Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS if, and only if, you allow it;
- your approximate location as inferred from your IP address (not your
device’s GPS location, which the App never requests);
- device and app information, and which ads you were shown or interacted with.
Google uses this to select ads, to measure them, and to prevent fraud. Its use
of that data is governed by Google’s own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- AdMob / Google Ads data disclosure:
https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
Your choices about ads
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the App
shows you a consent form, provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform, the
first time you open it. You can choose whether to allow personalised ads. You
can reopen that form and change your answer at any time from the privacy
option in the App.
If you do not consent to personalised advertising, you still get the App —
the ads simply become non-personalised. Non-personalised ads still use limited
information (such as approximate location and general context) to serve and
frequency-cap the ad.
On iOS, the App additionally asks for permission to track via Apple’s App
Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the IDFA is not made available
and ads are non-personalised. You can change this later in Settings →
Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of ads
personalisation, in Settings → Google → Ads.
Removing ads entirely. The App offers a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase. If
you buy it, no ads are requested at all.
Notifications and the Daily Reminder
The App can send you one notification a day: a reminder to keep your
streak going, at a time you choose.
- You are asked for it once, and only after you have a streak worth
keeping. It is off until you say yes. If you decline, you are not asked
again — you can still switch it on later in Settings.
- Saying yes opens your operating system’s own notification permission dialog.
You can refuse there, and you can revoke it at any time in your device’s
system settings.
- The reminder is scheduled on your device and fires from your device. The
App has no push-notification service — we do not send it, we cannot see it,
and it works with no network connection at all. Nothing about the reminder
leaves your phone.
- The reminder’s wording is fixed and generic. It contains no personal
information and no detail about your results.
- To turn it off: Settings inside the App, or your device’s notification
settings for Sharp Studio. Turning it off cancels anything already scheduled.
We do log whether you were offered the reminder, whether permission was
granted, the hour you picked, and when a reminder was opened — so that we can
tell whether the feature actually helps. That is analytics data, covered by
everything above, and it never includes the content of a notification.
We use the collected information to:
- Improve the App — understand which activities people actually return to
- Fix bugs — identify and resolve crashes and technical issues
- Optimise performance — make the App faster and more reliable
- Decide what to build next — prioritise based on real use
- Serve and measure advertising, as described above
- Provide support — help troubleshoot issues you report
We DO NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Build a profile about you as an identified person
- Share your progress, scores or streak with anyone
- Track your location
- Access your personal files or photos
Data Storage and Security
Local storage
- All of your progress is stored locally on your device using Hive.
- It never leaves your device unless you explicitly share a result card.
- We do not offer cloud backup or cross-device sync. If you change device or
delete the App, your progress does not follow you.
- The App also opts out of your operating system’s own backup. On Android,
apps are included in Google Drive backup by default; Sharp Studio switches
that off, so your progress is not copied there and does not survive a
reinstall. We would rather the App behave the way this page describes than
quietly keep a copy somewhere you did not ask for.
Analytics and advertising data
- Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase and stored on Google servers.
- Advertising data is processed by Google AdMob.
- Data in transit is sent over HTTPS.
- We hold no servers and no database of our own. There is no account for an
attacker to break into, because there are no accounts.
Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics and Firebase
Crashlytics for crash reports.
Firebase Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Data shared with Firebase:
- Anonymous, app-scoped installation identifier
- App usage events, as listed above
- Device model, OS version, app version
- Crash reports and stack traces
Data NOT shared: your name, your contacts, your photos, your location.
Google AdMob
See the Advertising section above.
Apple and Google (payments)
When you make an in-app purchase:
- Payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play)
- We never see or store your card or payment details
- We receive only a confirmation that a purchase completed
- Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Purchases
The App offers a single, optional, one-time purchase: Remove Ads. It is not
a subscription and it does not renew.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, not by us.
Your purchase is remembered on your device. You can restore it on a new device
or after reinstalling using Restore Purchases in the App.
Your Rights and Choices
Your progress
- Stored only on your device.
- Deleting the App removes all of it, permanently and immediately. There is no
copy for us to delete, because we never had one — and none in your
operating system’s backup either, because the App opts out of it.
Analytics data
- Anonymous, and not linked to you as a person.
- On iOS, declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or turning off
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, limits what can be used for
advertising purposes.
- On Android, Settings → Google → Ads lets you opt out of ads
personalisation and reset your Advertising ID.
- If you would like us to delete analytics data associated with your
installation, email us at the address below. Because the data is anonymous
we may need the Firebase installation identifier to find it, and we will
explain how to get it.
Advertising consent
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can reopen the consent form at
any time from the privacy option in the App and change your answer.
Children’s Privacy
Sharp Studio: Focus is a general-audience app. It is not directed to
children under 13, and it displays advertising, including advertising that
may be personalised where you have consented to it.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- We do not require account creation
- Analytics data is anonymous
Parents/Guardians: if you believe your child has provided personal
information, or that a child under 13 is using the App, please contact us and
we will help.
International Users
Compliance with Indian law:
- We comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including the
Information Technology Act 2000 and its rules
- No sensitive personal data, as defined in those rules, is collected
- Analytics data is anonymised
- Data is processed by Google, which operates servers worldwide
Data Controller:
- Leap & Know (India-based individual developer)
- Contact: leapandknow@gmail.com
European users (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Legal basis for processing:
- Consent — for personalised advertising, for the associated identifiers,
and for analytics. You give or refuse this in the consent form on first
launch, and you may withdraw it at any time from the privacy option in the
App.
- Until you answer that form, nothing is used. The App tells Google that
consent is withheld before it starts, and lifts that only once the form has
been answered — or once Google’s consent SDK confirms that no consent
requirement applies where you are. If you are in the EEA, the UK or
Switzerland and have not answered, your usage data is not used for
analytics or for advertising.
- Legitimate interest — for crash reports, and for non-personalised
advertising, which funds the App. Crash reports are the one thing that runs
from the moment the App starts: they contain no advertising identifier and
nothing about you, and without them a crash during start-up — the kind that
stops the App opening at all — would be invisible to us and unfixable.
Your rights:
- Right of access
- Right to erasure
- Right to object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried
out before you withdrew it
- Right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority
Data transfer: analytics and advertising data is processed by Google, which
is US-based. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data
Privacy Framework for these transfers.
Data Retention
- Your progress: kept on your device until you delete the App
- Analytics data: retained by Google for up to 14 months
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days (Crashlytics default)
- Advertising data: retained by Google under its own retention policy
- App deletion: all local data is removed when you delete the App
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, changes in
regulations, or improvements to our data practices.
When we update:
- We will change the “Last Updated” date above
- Significant changes will be announced in the App
- Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance
Security
Technical measures:
- Local data uses your device’s own storage protection
- All data in transit is sent over HTTPS
- Firebase and AdMob use industry-standard security
- No payment data is stored by us
Your responsibility:
- Keep your device secure with a passcode, Face ID or fingerprint
- Keep your operating system updated
